TAKING THE CHRISTMAS SPIRIT INTO THE COMMUNITY.

Across the Island most units of Girlguiidng IW have been undertaking special activities within their communities with Christmas in mind. BROWNIES ENJOY ‘JUNGLE BOOK-THE PANTOMIME’.

Wroxall Brownies and 4th Shanklin Brownies, units of Girlguiding IW, had a pre-Christmas treat recently when members travelled to Cowes to see the Cowes Amateur Operatic & Dramatic Society’s production of Jungle Book-The Pantomime by Cheryl Barrett. FESTIVE EVENING FOR CARISBROOKE RANGERS.

  Carisbrooke Rangers held a  Christmas wreath making evening recently. Girls brought in donations for the foodbank to take part and parents paid £5 each to fundraise for the unit. £30 was made which was fantastic and  the event enabled parents to get involved. Members of Girlguiding IW attended a South West England Region conference recently at Center Parcs, Longleat, Wiltshire. Included in those attending were Girlguiding Isle of Wight President-Patricia Partridge and one of the Island Commissioners-Lesley Clifford. £500 CHEQUE PRESENTATION TO GIRLGUIDING IW.

Girlguiding Isle of Wight has been presented with a cheque for £500 by WightAID. This presentation was made to members of Girlguiding IW by Brian Marriott a Trustee of WightAID during a Brownie, Guide and Ranger meeting. AGE UK Isle of Wight-Age Friendly Island Award for Sheila.

Sheila Cates one of the leaders of 11th Newport Rainbows has recently been presented with the Arm in Arm Award by Mark O’Sullivan from Age UK IW at a ceremony during a Rainbow meeting.
