Following their help with this year’s ‘Walk the Wight with Mountbatten’ Carisbrooke Guides have been presented with an award.
At the presentation, held at the Mountbatten Hospice, Newport the Guides and their leader Linda Stone received the award from the ‘Lions’.
Linda said, “We walk every year and raised over £200 between us. Members of our unit were also giving out medals at Carisbrooke Castle, and other Girlguiding members were volunteering at the start in Lake, and the finish in Shide, where they were also giving out medals.
The Mountbatten charity is dear to our hearts as one of our leaders is recovering from breast cancer”.
At the presentation Linda and the Guides were commended on their cheerfulness and happy smiles.
