Although there is some entertainment for Cowes Week starting on Friday 9th August the week really starts on Saturday 10th when not only do the first yacht races start but Cowes is filled with entertainment for all. 11th Newport Brownies celebrate 60 years.

At Newport in 1959 and with the disbanding of the Salvation Army Life- Guards and Sunbeams, 11th Newport (Salvation Army) Guides and Brownies were registered.
