Affordable fun: the County Show puts value first for the 125th Show
Organisers of the 125th Royal Isle of Wight County Show have unveiled a jam-packed programme for this summer’s event, taking place on 11 and 12 July. They are promising a budget-friendly day out, with a single ticket unlocking a massive array of activities.
Once through the gates, the show’s unique interactive experiences are available to everyone. Visitors can try their hand at herding a pig, leading a calf and a goat, meeting the hounds, or joining in with a spot of welly wanging. For the strong-willed, there is even a chance to participate in pulling a steam engine.
Graham Biss, County Show Chairman, explained: “We believe a brilliant summer day out with the family shouldn’t break the bank. There’s a full line-up of animals, activities, displays, entertainment and expert advice, which is all included in the entry fee.”
Beyond the livestock, the ticket covers live music at the new Bandstand and the Village Green stage, as well as demonstrations ranging from sheep shearing to chainsaw carving. Keen gardeners can pick up complimentary tips at the Gardening Advice Centre, while heritage enthusiasts can head to the Woodland area to try traditional crafts like hurdle making, charcoal making and spoon whittling.
Advance tickets are £12.50, and under-16s get free entry with a paying adult. On-site parking is also included in the ticket price.

Something for everyone at this year’s show.
