Over 200 Rainbows,Brownies. Guides and Rangers from across the Island enjoyed a festive trip to the Commodore Cinema, Ryde at the weekend to see detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on their latest big case in Zootropolis 2, at an exclusive screening for Girlguiding members. Arrangements for the Island trip were made by Guide Leader Helen Sparling.
Across the UK these exclusive screenings were staged at 98 Odeon Cinemas and the girls from the Island joined over 42,900 Girlguiding members, in spirit, at these events which are in partnership with Girlguiding. These mass film screening events took place on Saturday 6 and Sunday, 7 December and with no Odeon Cinemas on the Island, once again, the Commodore stepped up to the mark.
In this sequel to the blockbuster hit Zootropolis, detectives Judy, a rabbit and Nick, a fox, find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootropolis and turns the city upside down.
These exclusive Girlguiding screenings are just one of the many opportunities Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers- girls and young women aged 4-18 – have in Girlguiding to have fun and adventure. This trip provided a special and memorable day out with Guiding friends, celebrating friendship and inspiring intrepid adventures.
Imogen from 1st Carisbrooke Guides said: “I loved going to the cinema to see Zootropolis 2 with my unit. The film was very good. It was so much fun. As well as being with my friends from the Carisbrooke Unit we had the chance to meet up with other members of Girlguiding from other Island towns.”
Girlguiding has been organising these film screenings for the past eight years, providing affordable adventures for girls beyond their unit meetings, and opportunities for volunteers to connect with their Guiding community. These special screenings show the latest family-friendly films exclusively for Girlguiding members. Zootropolis 2 is the tenth film to be shown at an exclusive Girlguiding screening.
