Win tickets to Sky presents the Isle of Wight Festival.

Here is a chance to enter an art competition. Dimbola Museum & Galleries at Freshwater is looking for artists aged 14-25 to submit original artwork inspired by Jimi Hendrix at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival. Work could be featured in the upcoming exhibition ‘Experience Hendrix – Isle of Wight Festival 1970’.

The winning piece will be selected by Isle of Wight Festival organiser John Giddings, and 1970 Festival organiser Ray Foulk, at the exhibition opening event. One winner will then have their artwork displayed as part of the exhibition, and be awarded a pair of Isle of Wight Festival tickets

This open call invites artists aged 14 to 25 to submit original artwork inspired by Jimi Hendrix. Submissions may draw on Hendrix himself, his distinctive style and costume, his guitar, or the songs he performed at the 1970 festival. Artists are encouraged to work in any medium, including painting, printmaking, mosaic, sculpture, fabric or mixed media.

To apply, artists should provide a brief description of their work, including medium and dimensions, and upload an image via the submission page: https://braveisland.uk/opportunity/brief-jimi-hendrix-exhibition-competition/

The closing date is Friday May 22nd, 2026 – so get creating.

Shortlisted entrants must be able to deliver their artwork to Dimbola Museum and Galleries with the selected piece being exhibited in ‘Experience Hendrix – Isle of Wight Festival 1970’ from 27th May.
