Wight In Bloom 2024 calling all gardeners.

2023 Winner Lucas with Alan Titchmarsh.

With the return of this popular gardening competition “Wight In Bloom” there is the chance for you to become this year’s winner. The passion and dedication of gardeners on the Isle of Wight is to be celebrated  when the winner is announced in July.

Wight In Bloom recognises the work of green-fingered wonders, from small front gardens to businesses with a floral feature, community displays and welcome retreats in care homes.

New for 2024 is the Best Climate Resilient Garden category, highlighting gardens and green spaces that conserve or restore our natural landscapes and wildlife, or are inspired by the Island’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve status in their creative practice.

This year, organisers of Wight In Bloom have suggested a theme – although not mandatory – that is set to inspire gardeners. Gardeners are being encouraged to think about the RNLI who for 200 years have been saving lives at sea and are an integral part of the Island. Suggestions include incorporating the RNLI colours, water features or even lifeboat planters

The deadline for entries is 31 May, with judging taking place between 04-25 June.
