SUMMER ACTIVITIES FOR GUIDES

Guides across the Isle of Wight have been undertaking a number of special activities, as well as their regular meetings, this Summer.

Some of the Guides at Binstead decided to do fundraising for the Mountbatten Hospice, Newport and a grand sum of over £100 was raised. There was no prompting from any leaders- it was the Guides’ own idea. Two of the Guides, Tilly and Maisie, then visited the Mountbatten Hospice to present the cheque.

Meanwhile Guides from the 11th Newport Unit undertook the RNLI’s May Day May Day challenge and made a visit to Bembridge Lifeboat Station. As well as viewing the station and the lifeboats they explored the nearby beach.

Carisbrooke Guides have also made visits to the coast. At Cowes they enjoyed a boat trip around the harbour followed by a camping adventure at Bembridge where there were visits to the sea as well as cooking fun and crafts.
