Three members of 1st Ventnor Guides have achieved their Baden Powell Awards the highest award for girls of this age.
Catherine Idle 15years old, Beth Hammond 13 and Sydney Pitts 13 completed a range of different activities. Two helped at Brownie meetings for two terms and one helped at the Children’s Centre.
They also ran a First Aid evening, made song books and ran activities and games together for the other Guides at the unit.
All three Guides travelled to Foxlease, the Guides Training Centre in the New Forest, for their BP Challenge for a special weekend.
Highlights at Foxlease were meeting new people, being away from home and learning different activities.
All the Guides have been members of Girlguiding for some years and were presented with their Awards by the former leader of 1st Ventnor Guides Julie Hudleston.
Jennie Carleton leader of 1st Ventnor said “The girls loved helping with the Brownies and all three absolutely loved the BP Challenge Weekend at Foxlease.”
