The Mike Howley Trust:
New Funding Opportunity for Young Island Creatives

Quay Arts is pleased to announce the opening of The Mike Howley Trust for applications from young Island creatives, to help realise their artistic ambitions.

Mike Howley, who worked for many years as Director of Cultural Services for the Isle of Wight Council, died in May 2013. Under the terms of his will, a share of the residue of his estate was left “for the specific benefit of aspiring young actors, musicians, dancers and writers, between the ages of 18 and 30, living on the Isle of Wight “. Quay Arts has been appointed to administer the fund and to promote its existence for potential beneficiaries.

Trustees welcome applications from people in the stated age range and artforms for investment in areas such as training, equipment, marketing & promotion, recording, rehearsal space, staging, publishing costs, or simply time to create.

The Trustees will meet twice-yearly (in March and September) to consider applications and the deadline for applications this year will be 29th February and 31st August 2016.

Anyone interested in applying to the Mike Howley Trust should in the first instance contact Jacqui Cusack, Arts Manager at Quay Arts, at j.cusack@quayarts.org.
