“Girlguiding Celebrates” is an event that honours some of the amazing members who have received a Guiding award or who have been nominated by other Girlguiding members and parents for the amazing things they have done.
This was the second time this event had been held and this year’s event was even bigger and better than before- a big party with lots of treats, refreshments and entertainment – think of a glamorous variety show with a Girlguiding twist.
Angela Wallace from Ryde went from the island to this national event held in London at the Odeon Luxe, Leicester Square, known for hosting red carpet events.
Angela received a national nomination for her outstanding work within Girlguiding Isle of Wight. She puts her heart and soul into providing the best experience for young girls and her nomination also included a mention of all the time and commitment that comes with making that happen.
Angela was introduced to the Chief Guide Tracy Foster and the deputy Chief Guide Sally Kettle .

Meanwhile several Girlguiding IW members were nominated to attend a special cream tea event in Somerset, again to recognise the volunteering they undertake on a regular basis. Organised by South West Region, of which the Island forms part, the event was hosted by Region Chief Commisioner Racheal Tattum.
Members from various units across the Island were nominated: Donna Sanders-Steel, Jenny Peddar, Kerry Hiscock, Wendy Macklin, Rose & Jim Walls, Julia Downer, Coral Hatcher, Angela Smith, Janet Lovell and Karen Bull.
