On one of the hottest days of the year Rainbows, the youngest members of Girlguiding, and their leaders got together for a fun afternoon of activities, games and generally enjoying the outdoors.
Held in Puckpool Park, Ryde the event was organised by Donna Sanders- Steel Rainbow Section Commissioner and other leaders. Rainbows from across the Island attended this Rainbow Section meet-up which marked the end of another successful year with girls making new friends, gaining badges and helping their communities.
Activities included a nature trail and to the delight of the girls, games involving cold water- just right for a very hot day.
Advice on keeping safe in very hot weather had been sent to parents/carers prior to the event and with shade from the trees in the park and plenty of water everyone had an enjoyable afternoon.
During the event Sharon Winter leader of Ryde Rainbows was presented with a 40- years’ Service Award by Linda Stone (Island Commissioner.)
