Quay Arts, Newport will be hosting the inaugural Summer Exhibition of the Contemporary British Painting group from the 30th July.
Founded in 2013 by Robert Priseman in conjunction with Simon Carter, the group was formed to seek ways to explore and promote current trends in British painting through group exhibitions, talks, publications, art prizes, as well as the donation of paintings to art museums both in the UK and around the world.
Contemporary British Painting represents some of the most exciting, emerging and award-winning artists, painting in the UK today. This exhibition in the West Gallery will feature the work of 40 artists from the group to coincide with the 40th Anniversary of Quay Arts this year.

All are welcome to come along to the exhibition opening on Saturday 30th July, 3 – 5pm and meet some of the artists involved. Gallery talks and tours by artists from the group will take place throughout the summer; as well as a ‘response’ exhibition in the Clayden Gallery by students from Atkinson House and The Foyer,which will be opening on 20th August and run until 15th October.
