East Cowes Guides and their leaders are planning to attend the next Girlguiding’s Big Gig- a pop music festival just for 20,000 Guides.
To enable the girls to attend they decided to raise funds for their unit not only to pay for transport costs to the Big Gig trip but for welcome packs for three new girls and camping equipment so that the unit can undertake outdoor activities and camps in the future,
This fund raising took place at Sainsbury’s Newport with the Guides packing bags for customers in return for a donation. All the girls worked hard bag packing for several hours which resulted in £217.05 being collected.
Alana Bell (Guide Leader) said, “All the girls did very well and are now looking forward to their trip and camping. We would like to thank Sainsbury’s for supporting our charity and allowing us to do this.”
