The Great Wight Bite Food Festival took place at Northwood House, Cowes. With very hot weather on the Saturday the thousands of visitors were glad to find the shade and perhaps enjoy a cooling drink from a selection of food and drink outlets including JLT Wines from Freshwater or the Island’s very own Mermaid Gin.
A chefs demonstration theatre played to mainly packed houses and the Get Cooking for children catered for children wanting to learn cooking skills with some excellent results and dozens of Chocolate Muffins made.
Several Island food and drink outlets had their wares for sale and they were joined by food and drink retailers from the mainland for this new food event.
Red Funnel sponsored transporting equipment and kitchens from the mainland enabling large catering kitchens to be placed in Northwood Park.
