Six volunteers  were presented with Good Service Brooches for excellent service within Girlguiding by the Island Commissioners Shirley Saunders and Lesley Clifford at a special World Thinking Day Event.

There was a surprise visit from a Girlguiding SW England Region Deputy Commissioner Sarah French who had travelled to the Island for the day from Somerset.

The six receiving  the Good Service Brooches were: (in photo order)

Emma Bryson, Keira Clifford, Karen Bull, Linda Stone, Tammy Vincent and Suzanne Whitewood.

With a combined total of 90 years’ service to Girlguiding Marion O’Nions (40 years’ service) and Deborah Meadows (50 years’ service) were given their long service awards by Sarah French. Both Marion and Deborah have been leaders, advisors and District Commissioners and with Deborah being the Island Commissioner on two separate occasions their service to Girlguiding is exceptional.
