Visit Isle of Wight is excited to announce that the Island has been Highly Commended in the Best Domestic Destination for families category at the Family Traveller Awards 2015.
Hosted by BAFTA award winning presenter Katy Hill, the awards took place on 6 October 2015 at London’s highest viewing platform at the top of the tallest building in Western Europe, The View from The Shard.
These Awards revealed the results of the public and panel votes which saw over 26,000 recorded across 18 categories. The expert panel was made up of Family Traveller Columnists Simon Reeve and Mariella Frostrup, Family Traveller Editor Jane Anderson, The Times Travel Editor Jane Knight and Elle’s Travel and Lifestyle Director Sue Ward Davies.
Wightlink Ferries also won a Highly Commended Award in the Best Family Ferry Operator category at the ceremony.

The Best Domestic Destination winner was Isle of Scilly, others on the shortlist were Guernsey, Cornwall, North Norfolk, Devon, Northumberland, Brighton & Hove, Cairngorm mountains, Cardiff Bay and Argyllshire.
The Best Family Ferry Operator winner was Brittany Ferries, others on the shortlist were DFDS Seaways, MyFerryLink, Hovertravel and Stena Line Harwich to Hook of Holland.
In all, 18 awards were presented on 6th October.
