Across the Island celebrations for the Coronation of HM King Charles lll and Queen Camilla on 6th May took place. Girlguding IW members joined in the activities which included Rainbows and Brownies making crowns and Guides taking part in THE BIG HELP OUT.
On the 7th of May Anne one of our Assistant Island Commissioners, Katie, Suzanne, Tessa, Kerry and Shannon had a stand at Northwood House for the Coronation Big Picnic. The selection of activities proved popular with children making and decorating crowns and undertaking games. On the 10th May Donna our other Assistant Island Commissioner gave a presentation on Volunteering with Girlguiding at a special public event for Island charities.
A few days after the Coronation one of our Leaders Emily Knght was selected to volunteer at a Bucking Palace garden Party. Emily managed to get close up to The Duchess of Edinburgh (L) Girlguiding’s President, and The Princess of Wales. Emily is pictured at Buckingham Palace with her Certificate of Assistance.
