4th Sandown Brownies decided to raise funds for Mountbatten after Sam Alabaster sadly passed away.
He was the son of Jayne Alabaster, one of the Occasional Helpers at the Brownie Unit, the dad of two of the Brownies Isabella- Rose Alabaster and Emelia-Faith Alabaster and husband to one of the Brownie Leaders Charmaine Alabaster.
With Four members of his family being part of the unit all the members decided to raise money for Mountbatten Hospice, which helped Sam and his family, both before and after his passing.
A Quiz night was held for families and friends with Hot Dogs served and a raffle held.
Morrisons, Lake (where four of the Sandown Brownie Unit volunteers work) not only gave the Unit the venue to use, but they also donated the drinks and food and match funded what they raised.
Angela Smith, Brownie Leader said, “ Thank you so much Morrisons for your support. We had an incredible turnout and raised a huge £510”.
Charlotte Hornblow (who is a parent of one of the Brownies) attended the Brownies’ meeting recently to accept the cheque and thanked everyone for supporting the great work the Hospice provides.
All four members of the Alabaster Family are in the photo holding the cheque with Angela.
