Seven Brownies and 1 Rainbow from the Brighstone & Shotwell units have gained their Gold Awards.
Brownie Leaders Anne and Sarah said. “ These 6 girls (pictured) are the first girls to receive gold awards in our unit. Poppy, Iris, Charlotte, Poppy, Izzy and the 3rd Poppy, all are10 years old, were presented with their awards but the 7th Brownie, Ila, was not well enough to receive her award at the same time. Such a proud occasion for the girls, leaders and parents. Regular attendance to unit meetings makes it possible for them to gain badges and awards.“
Various badges were undertaken by the Brownies- Archaeology, Aviation, Baking, Charities, Dancing, Grow you own, Inventing, Jobs, Local History, Speaking out and various staged skills builders. They really enjoyed working for their Charities Badge.
Meanwhile one Rainbow has gained her Gold Award. This is Holly the 1st Rainbow to achieve her Gold Award in the Brighstone & Shorwell Unit. Leader Anne (pictured with Holly) said “ All so proud of her and so well deserved. She hardly misses any of our unit meetings.“
Holly (7) undertook a number of badges: Fruit and veg, First aid stage 1, Recycling, Make change stage 1, Nature, Explore Stage 1, Storyteller, Communicate stage 1, Family tree, Reflect stage 1, Booklover and Lead stage 2. Her favourite things at Rainbows were having adventures, nature and walks.
