ANOTHER CHANCE TO SEE RED ARROWS.

For a number of people the display from the Red Arrows played an important part in this year’s Isle of Wight Festival when this RAF team undertook their spectacular manoeuvres on the Sunday afternoon. Shoppers in Newport High Street were brought to a halt and dozens viewed the display in their gardens or from front-door steps.

Now there is the chance to view the Red Arrows’ 2014 display again. Cowes Week Limited is delighted to announce that ‘local letterbox’ has extended its support of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week 2014 to include airborne displays which will significantly enhance the shoreside programme at this year’s regatta.

‘local letterbox’, an exciting new business that is set to be the only dedicated network of parcel shops and parcelpods™ in the UK, stepped-in with support to safeguard the regatta’s Red Arrows display last year.

This year the company is stepping-up its support to not only include a display by the iconic aerobatic team but has also secured a Typhoon display and a display from the’ local letterbox’ sponsored display team, The Blades.

The support provided by ‘local letterbox’ means that many thousands of people in Cowes and the surrounding area will be able to enjoy a display by The Blades (Saturday 2 August), the RAF Typhoon Display Team (Friday 8 August) and the Red Arrows (Friday 8 August); the latter two complementing a packed evening of entertainment culminating in the traditional fireworks display.

However, let us go back to the start of Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week. On Sunday there is Family Day with something new in Northwood Park this year- out of doors cinema. This screening, courtesy of the Extraordinary Travelling Film Show, will take place on Sunday 3rd August, and will be a wonderful way for everyone to relax after a day of sailing or a busy Family Day ashore.

Voting for the film to be shown began on Friday 27th June, and the count will take place on Monday July 7th.  Vote on the Extraordinary Travelling Film Show web-site to select the film you would most like to see on the big screen under the stars on Sunday 3rd August. Choices are: Pirates of the Caribbean- Curse of the Black Pearl; Finding Nemo; The Goonies or Splash.

The chosen film will be shown on the private lawn of the house and film goers are encouraged to bring a picnic mat or chair to relax in the wonderful surroundings and experience a truly entertaining film under the stars.  Food and drinks will also be on sale. This screening during Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week is part of a summer-long schedule that the Extraordinary Travelling Film Show is bringing to the Island.
