GROWTH & RETENTION.
As most of you who work within units know there is a Growth & Retention campaign. On the Island a small committee was formed to look into ways to advertise Girlguiding IW on the Island so that units with small numbers of girls can remain open and new leaders can be found to prevent the closure of units where there are lots of girls but leaders have had to leave for one reason or another.
To this end a public advertising campaign commenced in 2019 with a team of leaders attending local events to see if any new members come forward.
During the COVID pandemic the campaign was put on hold but since then we have attended a number of local events including Riverfest at Newport Quay, Volunteer Fairs and The County Show.
When will YOU help at an event? Most units can always do with extra adult help especially if there are numbers of girls, so will you help to find new leaders and helpers? By attending one or more of the events where Girlguiding IW is having a stand or helping run activities you will not only have the chance to recruit new girls but perhaps engage with an ideal leader or helper for your own unit or another one on the Island.
Use the ‘contact’ on this website for more details.
