Over 200 members of Girlguiding IW enjoyed a special event at Blackgang Chine recently. This event was planned by Island Commissioner Wendy Macklin and the MGR Team. All Sections attended with Leaders and with several members wearing the new uniforms introduced by Girlguiding in the Summer.

All girls and leaders not only participated in all the activities and rides that Blackgang Chine has on offer but with a mass picnic arranged at lunchtime there was the chance to not only enjoy food and drink but to meet and make friends with other girls from across the Island.

Rides on the train and the splashes of the water slides proved popular as did Cowboy Town and the dinosaurs. However a favourite with older girls was “Extinction” with spinning and turning upside down resulting in loud screams.

As part of the day presentations were made by Island Commissioner Wendy Macklin to Leader. Tessa Bryson as Tessa has completed her Queen’s Guide Award,
