VOLENTEERS WEEK 2026.

1st-7th June is volunteers week. It is celebrated nationally in the UK across charities and has been for a number of years.

As a national charity run mainly by volunteers, certainly at a local level, Girlguiding is celebrating and thanking its thousands of volunteers.

If you would like to volunteer with Girlguiding IW please use the “contact” on his website.

Chief Guide, Tracy Foster OBE, has been in contact with adult members. Here is portion of her letter:

It’s Volunteers’ Week, and on behalf of the Chief Guide team and everyone at Girlguiding, I want to say a heartfelt thank you for everything you do for Guiding.

Your dedication makes such a difference. Whether you’re part of a unit leadership team, taking girls on new adventures, or supporting in so many other ways, your time, energy and care have a lasting impact and we’re so grateful.

This week is about celebrating you and the incredible contribution you make. If you can, take a little time for yourself and connect with fellow volunteers too. Why not use this week as a chance to recognise someone who’s inspired you, share a thank you, or take part in a local or online celebration.

Thank you again, from me personally, for all that you do, whatever your role. You make Guiding possible in your community.

As always, take care and keep smiling,

Tracy, Chief Guide
