KINGS OF LEON MAKE HEADLINES

Kings of Leon will headline the 2014 IW Festival on the Sunday (15th June) having headed the Friday roster in 2011.
Then, they gave a below par performance which disappointed many of their true fans. Shortly afterwards in July 2011 vocalist Caleb Followill experienced personal problems which resulted in the quartet taking a six month break.
Formed in Nashville, Tennessee in 1999 the rock band consists of the three Followill brothers and their cousin.
Vocalist Caleb Followill also plays rhythm guitar. Drummer Nathan is a backing vocalist and plays percussion. Bass guitarist Jared also sings. Cousin Matthew plays lead guitar and can sing also.
In 2009, Kings of Leon started their own record label, Serpents and Snakes Records.
Their 2008 single ‘Sex on Fire’ was Number One for three weeks and has sold over one million units. It has racked up 90 weeks on the singles chart.
‘Use Somebody’, released in the same year, has also passed one million sales. Having logged 75 weeks on the charts, it peaked at Number two.
Other well known singles are: ‘Molly’s Chambers’ (2003) and ‘Revelry’.
To date, the foursome has released six studio albums. Four of them have reached the Number One slot on the album chart.
‘Because of the Times’ hit the summit in 2007, followed by ‘Only The Night’ in 2008 and ‘Come Around Sundown ‘in 2010. ‘Mechanical Bull’ entered the album chart at Number One on 5th October 2013.
