TheYachtMarket.com Southampton Boat Show, Britain’s biggest and best festival of boating, showcases a selection of beautifully designed yachts and power boats and takes place 14th-23rd September. This year celebrates 50 years of the show.
Taking place in Mayflower Park and on Southampton Water nearby the show is easy to get to for Island residents just a few minutes from the Red Funnel terminals.
With the show having long-term commitment to marine conservation, organisers have pledged a three-year plan to minimise the environmental footprint. As well as using the event as a platform for change it will help raise awareness of the plight of the world’s oceans.
Research ship RV Callista will be on berth M455. Go on board and have a tour and see a remote autonomous vehicle (ROV) in the water filming under the boat. You’ll be able to see footage from around the world that has been captured using the ROV and make sure you look at the plankton samples under the microscope. Also visit the Science of the Sea Experience Exhibition on Stand E030.
The Science of the Sea Experience is designed to show visitors more about the mysteries which lay beneath the waves and the latest technologies which are helping keep our oceans clear of plastic pollution.
A mini-cruise experience is available free of charge (Noon -4pm most days.) on Ocean Scene a fully equipped vessel with sundecks. Cruise Southampton waters and see the Show from an entirely different angle.
Don’t miss the Marina, one of Europe’s largest purpose- built marinas with over 2km of pontoons, displaying more than 330 boats. It berths some of the World’s most prestigious exhibitors and brands, hosting yachts, RIBs, motor and day boats and many exciting feature boats including the Tall Ship, Kaskelot.

Taking place across the 17th, 18th and 19th of September contenders will compete for the City Cup, Women’s Cup and Property Cup. There is also a Community Cup challenge for young people who have faced tough personal challenges, giving them the chance to experience the thrill of sailing.
