Newport’s Winter carnival and Christmas lights switch-on was witnessed by a good crowd on 30th November. As the Christmas Tree lights illuminated St. James’ Square for the first time fireworks surprised the onlookers and the carnival parade was enhanced by Santa’s Little Helpers (11th Newport and Carisbrooke Rainbows) who were Elves for the evening.
Santa’s Little Helpers won a carnival 3rd prize for their colourful entry.
