Members of the public are invited to look behind the scenes at Briddlesford Lodge Farm on Open Farm Sunday, 8th June at 3 pm.
Briddlesford is a working dairy farm with a milking herd of 150 prize winning pedigree Guernsey cows. There are a further 150 young stock, made up of heifers and calves, some being bred for milk, and some for veal.
Places are limited so visitors must book by e.mailing judi@briddlesfordlodgefarm.co.uk for a free place.
Visitors will be shown the milking herd, the barns and machinery, and be able to watch the milking. Weather permitting, there will be tractor rides around the fields to see the crops growing and the pastures for grazing. Most importantly, visitors can get up close to cows and calves.
All visitors will be offered a drink of the well- known Briddlesford Buttercup milk. There will also be the opportunity to visit the Farm Shop and Bluebells cafe.
OPEN FARM SUNDAY is a national event organised by LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming).
Nearly 1 million people have visited farms on Open Farm Sunday, since the first one was held in 2006, experiencing the joy of discovering the great outdoors down on the farm .Briddlesford Lodge Farm has taken part every year, proud to show the public how the Griffin family farm.
