Girlguiding IW Pop-Up events for new members.

Girlguiding IW is always looking to welcome new members. Whether this is a 5 year old Rainbow or someone of Brownie age (7-10), a new Guide (10-14) or a young women keen to be a Ranger (14-19) a welcome will always await.

Adult helpers and leaders will also be welcomed into the Girlguiding IW family too and they are really needed at present with so many girls waiting to join in the fun of our new programme.

During 2019 a number of special events are planned with some units celebrating 100 year anniversaries and all Island members invited to a camping weekend in September.

With this in mind members have been out and about with pop-up displays and activities and our members will be attending Island  public events throughout the year including Riverfest along Newport Quay and the IW Festival.

One of the first events in the calendar was a St. George’s Day  celebration held in St. Thomas’ Square and to coincide with the launch of CAP.

St George’s Day was quickly followed by a second pop-up event at West Wight Sports and Community Centre, Freshwater.  Young people visiting the centre were able to try Girlguiding activities and enjoy refreshments served by Rangers.
