BECOME A HARBOUR COMMISSIONER at COWES

One of the Cowes Harbour Commissioners, Ben Board, has taken the decision to resign due to family and work commitments. In his resignation letter, he commented: “I think the work the Commission do is extremely important and you have a team of people on the Board that care passionately about what happens to the harbour, as do I, and I feel that it is in safe hands for the future.” Cowes Harbour Commission is seeking a new Board member to fill the vacancy and has commenced an open recruitment process for the position.

 Cowes Harbour is renowned as the world’s most famous sailing destination and is of significant importance as the maritime gateway to the Isle of Wight. The role of Commissioner offers an excellent opportunity for the right individual to make a tangible and valuable contribution to the management and future of Cowes Harbour and its services.

 Applications to the Board of Cowes Harbour Commissioners are encouraged from capable individuals of varied backgrounds and experience to help increase diversity on the Board. Candidates should demonstrate enthusiasm, commitment and local knowledge, and have an interest in public service.

 The following skills and experience have been identified as being beneficial to the current Board of Commissioners, but should not be considered prescriptive: strategic communications, marketing, HR and personnel, environmental.
